A bucket list trip done & dusted!
A long held dream to head off to Scotland to visit Duart castle was recently achieved by Duart Homestead proprietors Natasha and Nathan Smith.  Spending a week by yourselves without children is always welcome by parents. For Natasha and Nathan who combine an outside catering business, a restaurant/reception centre with 6 children it was very welcome!
They landed in Glascow. Taking the Oban ferry to the Isle of Mull  they headed off to Duart Castle the seat of the Clan MacLean. They were amazed by the thickness of the castle walls (3.8 mt), and some historical features eg latrines. They were fortunate to witness a wedding where an Owl flew down bearing the wedding rings and bagpipes were played! Nathan serenaded folks, on Facebook, with a couple of songs while on the banks of Lock Lomond.   Yes it was raining.
Off to Belfast for a Black Taxi tour which was a little unsettling. Here they caught up with Helen Lanigan. Would you believe they were booked into the same hotel by their respective travel agents and were on the same floor! Nathan said the streets and castles were beautiful. He kissed the Blarney Stone, viewed Oscar Wilde's house which was built in 1038! Amazing! They enjoyed a Guinness and County Cork. Flying home they stopped off at Dubai, which was crazy.
